Gregory Icarus 40L Kids Backpack

The new Icarus 40 Liter pack from Gregory, we could tell was a winner from the moment we saw it! A nice streamlined design that looks great! The one other thing we noticed is the new line of Gregory packs were some of the lightest kids packs meant for backpacking we have seen. What does that mean? It means kids can carry more of their own gear instead of the pack weight taking up the bulk of the weight! The VersaFit adjustable torso has die-cut foam for a breathable back panel and Die-cut shoulder harness and a sternum strap featuring an integrated safety whistle. So many great features like big side mesh pockets, 2 zippered pockets in the top for easy access, hydration compatible, reflective loops, trekking pole attachment and so many more!

Pro Tip: Recommend carries weight is 10-15% of body weight! So a 50 lb 6-year-old could carry between 5-7.5 lbs. Another great way of estimating is by using the child’s age as the weight limit.  So 6 years can carry 6 lbs.
